Updated: 2014-05-16

May 19 is the fourth China Tourism Day. In order to promote tourism development in Anhui and encourage the public to participate in leisure activities, Anhui Tourism Bureau will cooperate with 16 cities to host the Anhui Tourism Carnival.

The carnival is themed "happy travel, benefit the people" and will officially kick off in Hefei Xiaoyaojin Park on May 17. During the carnival, the province's 16 city-level tourism bureaus, together with nearly 100 tourism enterprises, will offer different kinds of discounts of up to 50 percent off tourism products, including tour packages, airplane tickets, hotels, restaurants, and tourist goods, to stimulate tourism consumption and give back to society.

This sales event will attract the participation of a number of major scenic spots in the province and more than one hundred travel agencies. Good deals include 800 yuan ($128) off a Taiwan eight day tour on-site booking, 900 yuan off a Jeju Island tour, and 2000 yuan off a Costa cruise to Jeju for four nights and five days.

In addition, between May 17 to 19, Huangshan will host a rafting carnival which offers half-price tickets for the city's 10 rafting scenic areas. Xidi, Qiyun Mountain, and Ancient Huizhou Cultural Tourism Zone will also offer half-price tickets.
