Binhu Wetland Forest Park becomes national; Wi-Fi full coverage within the reach
Updated: 2014-03-03

Binhu Wetland Forest Park has just been approved by the China Forestry Administration as a national forest park, and received the honor as the top10 tourism project in Anhui province. Now Anhui is the only city that owns two national forest parks in its main urban conurbation.

Ever since the construction of the park began, various biodiversity projects have been carried out, and pro-environmental materials and measures have been applied throughout the process. Especially noticeable is the building of the first three-level greenway and three-level post system.

The project of building a forest transformation experimental area of over 200 mus (13.34 hectares) will start this spring. Also, a Song Dynasty styled village featuring celebrities of the Song Dynasty such as Bao Zheng and Jiang Kui can be expected. In the near future, the focus of the park will be on its intellectualization; for example the implementation of an auto-control for tourist numbers, reach full Wi-Fi coverage and building an all-in-one card system for shuttle buses, rental bikes and food services.

In August 2012, construction of this park became the No.1 ecological project of Baohe district, Hefei city and new tourism projects were introduced successively. The first part of the park was officially opened in October, 2012, and the second part, in May 2013. It took the park 17 months to achieve national status.
