Huangshan Mountain: Second most satisfying scenic spot of 2013
Updated: 2014-01-15

According to a report recently released by the China Tourism Academy, the overall level of tourist satisfaction declined in 2013, with the yearly index hitting 74.88. The major problems include dissatisfaction with environment, infrastructure, public service and price. The top 10 cities are: Suzhou, Huangshan, Chengdu, Wuxi, Qingdao, Ningbo, Amoy, Hangzhou, Beijing and Guilin.

While the satisfaction level declined in 2013, tourists were more satisfied with travel services, especially with complaint handling and quality supervision.

Discussing the decline in tourist satisfaction level, Dai Bin, president of the China Tourism Academy, pointed out that there is an imbalance between the quality of tourism and the large-scale development of the market. The era of mass tourism has allowed more tourists into public areas. Together with their increased demands, the large number of complaints has become a new normal. Therefore the development of tourism requires more focus on ordinary tourist rights and core demands.
