Huangshan releases new ways to promote winter tourism
Updated: 2013-11-15

The city of Huangshan, Anhui province, will actively promote specific tourism products this winter under the theme “Feel Winter in Huangshan and Make Dreams Come True in Huizhou,” the Huangshan municipal tourism bureau recently announced.

To achieve its goals, Huangshan has clarified its market positioning. Cities in the Yangtze River Delta are its main target markets to promote road trips and independent tourism. With the strengthening of airline routes, the target markets will grow to cover more distant cities. Tourist output contracts will be implemented between Huangshan and cities or travel agencies in South Korea, Taiwan and the United States.

Huangshan will also actively publicize its image in major domestic cities through LED screens and newspaper and magazine ads. Cooperation will be carried out among broadcasting units in the provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai and Anhui, creating themed promotions according to characteristics in the Yangtze River Delta areas. Media both at home and abroad and tourism companies will also be invited to visit Huangshan.

Themed activities will be held to promote winter tourism, such as road trip activities, bus tours in Huangshan, a large-scale photography festival and outdoor clubs.

The backbone tourism companies in Huangshan will make on-site promotions in main cities in the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta areas to teach more people about winter tourism in Huangshan. More over, five tourist trains will be arranged this winter.

In addition, online marketing should not be ignored. Sina Weibo will become a platform to publicize Huangshan's winter sights and accommodations. Huangshan culture and folk customs will also be spread through weibo and WeChat. Target customers can interact with the official WeChat: Huangshan Tourism. Tourism products and preferential prices will also be available online through sites like Taobao, Ctrip and eLong.
