Hongcun village is located in Yixian county at the foot of the southwestern slope of Huangshan Mountain.

Located in Yixian county at the foot of the southwestern slope of Huangshan Mountain, Hongcun village was added to UNESCO's World Cultural Heritage List in 2000. With morning mist, stone bridges, white walls, water lily ponds and hills, it has been described as a village in the Chinese painting.

Besides halls, pavilions and temples, Hongcun village consists of 160 ancient residences. This architectures, with fantastic stone carvings, are all from the Ming and Qing dynasties and widely regarded as the best historic sites throughout China.

Jiuhua Mountain

It is considered as one of the greatest Buddhist mountains in China with other three mountains: Wutai Moutain (Shanxi province), Emei Mountain (Sichuan province) and Putuo Mountain (Zhejiang province).

Huangshan Mountain boasts 72 peaks, and its three main peaks rise majestically more than 1,000 meters above sea level. It has more than 400 famous scenic attractions, 140 of which have been developed and opened to tourists. In 1990, Huangshan Mountain was included in both the world cultural and natural heritage lists.

Admission: 230 yuan (March – November), 150 yuan (December – February)

Getting there: take the minibus in Huangshan city to Tangkou town, and then transfer to the scenic sight bus to Huangshan Mountain.
