Fushan Mountain, once called Fudu Mountain, lies close to Baidang Lake on the northern bank of the Yangtze Rive.

It is 36 km from the county seat of Congyang in the south and abuts Chaohu City in the north. It covers an area of 15 square km and its highest peak is 165 meters above sea level. The area, which integrates beautiful natural scenery and many historical sites, is renowned for its mysterious lava caves and petroglyph.

Thanks to its abundant plants and tourist resources, it was listed as a national forest park in 1992. Its natural views are characteristic of volcanic landforms. The ancient volcanic sites, typical among its counterparts around the world, appeal to many visitors interested in geology. It was listed as a national geological park in 2001. Fushan Mountain is also well known for its Buddhist culture, with some 480 exquisite inscriptions carved on cliffs with different styles.
